GetResponse Review

The Bottom Line: Reliable email marketing tool that works well for many SMBs

GetResponse is a reliable email marketing tool that works well for many SMBs, and it competes most directly with solutions like ActiveCampaign and Mailchimp.

GetResponse’s automated features are easy to use and competitive with similarly priced solutions. In addition, GetResponse offers several marketing tools beyond email, such as webinars and sales funnel software. However, GetResponse’s A/B testing tools are limited and only allow you to test different subject lines. In addition, GetResponse only allows you to add 8 conditions to each segment.

If you want a reliable email marketing solution with webinar and sales funnel features, you should consider testing GetResponse.
If you want powerful A/B testing to optimize email content, preheader text and messaging, we recommend other solutions such as ActiveCampaign.
  • Overall - 100%
  • Ease of Use - 90%
  • Customer Service - 83%
  • Features - 87%
  • Value for Money - 93%
  • Likelihood to Recommend - 87%
Pros
  • A completely free version of the platform that can be used indefinitely.
  • An "all-in-one" approach will appeal to small business owners with limited budgets
  • 500+ professionally designed email templates
  • Allows optimization of email design for different devices and ESPs.
  • Powerful autoresponder options
  • The flexible approach to data segmentation makes list management very easy - and it beats many competing products in this regard.
  • The new form designer gives users a lot of flexibility in terms of pop-up forms and the data they capture.
  • GetResponse's webinar feature is excellent and is a true USP.
Cons
  • The drag-and-drop interface for creating landing pages and forms is a bit cumbersome.
  • While the webinar feature is very useful, the recording restrictions are not very generous and users can only run paid webinars on the most expensive GetResponse plans.
  • Split testing functionality is limited to subject lines and content - it would be nice if users could test with sender and send time.
  • Phone support is not available (unless the user is on a "Max2" plan).
